How to back up Engram Wallet

Protect your Dero — back up your seed phrase and encrypted wallet file in 5 simple steps.

1. Step 1. Open the My Account module

   Launch Engram and open the My Account module from the sidebar to access security and backup options.

2. Step 2. Reveal your seed phrase

   Click Show Seed Phrase and authenticate with your wallet password. Engram will display your 25-word recovery seed.

3. Step 3. Write the seed offline

   Write the 25 words on paper or stamp them into metal. Never store the seed in cloud storage, photos, or password managers.

4. Step 4. Back up the wallet file

   Locate the encrypted .db wallet file in Engram's data folder and copy it to an external drive. Combined with your password it can restore the wallet.

5. Step 5. Verify your backup

   On a clean device, perform a test restore from your seed phrase to confirm the backup works. Restore-tested = real backup.
